WordPress 2.7 User Guide

Yes, it’s here - the new WordPress 2.7 User Guide first draft.  A little late in coming (we promise to be quicker with 2.8) but then these things take time and they don’t really make us much money.  You can help us with the money bit by joining Spectacu.la when we relaunch later this month, by the way…

Non-members can download the pdf file below, while members can download the pdf and the final Word Document.

WordPress 2.7 User Guide in Adobe pdf format.

The re-brandable and final .doc file can be changed to have your company logo on it, though we do ask that you leave credits to us somewhere in the document in order to maintain long-term copyright issues in the future. Doesn’t have to be everywhere - just at the beginning or end. Basically, be sensible.

Dave, congratulations on that labour of love! So hard to do something like that - especially when it all upgrades 5 minutes later :-) I just skimmed all the way through your guide - and it’s pretty damn useful for someone starting out in Wordpress, well done to you and the guys.

I’ll post about it on my site too!

Thanks for the good words Sam! It’ll be even better once I’ve added the finishing touches to it - I’ve spotted that the index is out of sorts, a few missing bits that could do with being covered, and a few other bits.

Great guide, some nice detail and also Free! I wonder why some people would want to take it and then sell it under their own Brand?

Anyway, I’ve developed another less detailed but more visual user guide for a client a short while ago. I was planning on adding more detail and fixing it up a little for public release, but seeing 2.8 is on our doorstep, might just wait for that and do one for 2.8

Thanks very much for doing this. It’s a really elegant piece of writing. It covers a lot of ground clearly and methodically in a remarkably compact amount of text.
It’s a great calling card for your site and services.
